Page One: A Fiction Writing Workshop


An author’s primary job is to keep the reader reading. And the first page is paramount in making sure the reader gets to page two. Join author and creative writing professor Michael Pogach for this workshop on first page strategies in fiction writing. Each participant is invited (but not required) to bring the first page of a story or novel in progress for discussion and critique.

Michael Pogach is an award-winning author of dystopias, thrillers, dark fantasies, and more. His most recent novel, the Gothic thriller SLIP, was a PennCraft Award runner-up and a Kindle Book Award semi-finalist. And his dystopian adventure Rafael Ward series has earned multiple Kindle Book Award nominations. Michael is a professor of creative writing in Bethlehem, PA. He lives with his family, and a black cat named Wednesday, in Quakertown.
